Peggie
Edwards-Jefferies has more than 10 years in professional meeting
planning and 20-plus years of experience in the
hotel/hospitality industry. She has managed meetings,
workshops, training events, and large-scale national and
international conferences and events for government and private
industry. Her expertise covers all elements of planning from
meeting room selection and layout to travel/lodging negotiations
to maintaining cost control.
Peggie is recognized for her
outstanding negotiating skills with vendors and facilities.
In
one particular instance, her astute contract negotiations saved
her client approximately $500,000.00 in liability resulting from
a necessitated cancellation because she insisted upon the
insertion of an “Act of War” clause in the hotel contract.
Earlier in her career, Peggie managed the meeting
division of a 400-room hotel and provided meeting training
within the private sector.
Peggie currently has a contract to manage meetings and
events for the Government
Accountability Office (GAO),
has five-year security clearance and works directly with the
Comptroller General and his staff.
